We just learned that 1970s West Texas BMXer Eddie Livingston (GT) passed away last night. I raced against Eddie for many years in the West Texas dust. He was an incredible competitor. We mixed it up and traded wins almost every weekend at the Midland, Odessa, and surrounding tracks. He won a lot more than he lost. And he didn’t loose twice in a row. That’s how tough it was racing with him. I recently nominated Eddie for the Texas BMX Hall of Fame. I thought that would be the best way to honor and recognize my fiercest competitor. He wasn’t inducted this year, but just being nominated seemed to really make him very happy. I know he appreciated that. At least he lived to see that day. It’s a shame he didn’t live to see many more. This says a lot about BMX and the life-long friends you make. The special memories. We’ll miss you, Buddy.
